I don't think he means to kill them .... he just can't help himself when the opportunity presents itself. I caught him red handed when I came home from work yesterday and he knew he was in trouble the minute he saw me pull in the driveway. As punishment he's lost his freedom for a little while so he can have some quiet time to think about what he did. Hopefully, after his sentence is up, we can find a way to stop this behavior.
Welcome to my blog about my 2nd journey on the 100 metre diet. I will only eat food that I grow, forage, raise and butcher on our 4.5 acre property. The only products that I am allowing myself to buy are salt, cheese culture and rennet. Everything else is up to me.

Buddy's in the dog house

Yes please, I'm always looking for successful cracker receipes.
ReplyDeleteHi Jess - Here it is .... Barb modified a recipe from Edna Staebler's Schmecks Appeal.
ReplyDelete4 cups whole wheat flour (we substituted in 2 cups of rye flour)
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup shortening (we used goat butter)
2/3 cup water or milk (goat milk)
Mix dry ingredients than add small portions of goat butter until finely blended. Add goat milk and stir until you can form a soft ball. Divide dough into 4 parts. Roll each part as thinly as possible. Slide the dough on to a unbuttered baking sheet. With a pastry wheel or a knife, mark the dough into cracker sized squares. Bake at 400 F for about 10 minutes or until crisp and pale brown. Place cracker sheets on a drying rack and break the crackers along the marked
lines. Top with spices ... anything works.
The thinner you roll the dough .... the crisper the crackers.
