I've been drinking only water for months now! I've have enjoyed coffee, beer and wine lately.

As for food, I haven't strayed from the diet ... except for special occassions. I'm looking forward to carrots and fresh tomatoes. I also have a really strong craving for gazpacho soup. And just thinking about a well aged hard cheese makes me salivate!Peskychickenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02769350270218299460noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6656631012388692597.post-3689370017199461062011-05-27T13:17:39.056-04:002011-05-27T13:17:39.056-04:00I am extremely proud of your accomplishments and h...I am extremely proud of your accomplishments and have enjoyed following your year long journey. I'm curious as to what indulgence you're looking forward to....coffee, beer, wine, chocolate, cheesies?! I know many things will feel like an indulgence but there must be something you're craving!lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17718861704745890414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6656631012388692597.post-84831398023761650202011-05-25T06:35:25.256-04:002011-05-25T06:35:25.256-04:00Yes, our food costs dropped considerably. I didn't track the actual savings, that would have been difficult to measure, but I would estimate that we saved at least $200 a month while on this diet. Probably more.

Another benefit was that I produced almost no garbage over the past year. Almost everything that I bought came in a recyclable or compostable container. The only exception was the yogurt and cheese culture packages. They ended up in the garbage.

It makes sense ... if you don't buy pre-packaged foods you don't have any packaging to throw away ;)

P.S. Mother Nature decided to end my diet with a bang. Our home was struck by lightening on Monday afternoon. The electrical surge fried our oven, TV, phone and the kids Wii. So much for all the money I saved on the 100 meter diet. Maybe this is Karma's way of reminding me that this journey wasn't about the money.Peskychickenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02769350270218299460noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6656631012388692597.post-6769878879677763682011-05-24T21:14:28.046-04:002011-05-24T21:14:28.046-04:00Tickled for you that you are so close to meeting y...Tickled for you that you are so close to meeting your goal!
